i bought a 93 ford explorer with a new ford transmission with 30k on it but has been sitting for six months. i havent changed the fluid in it yet but when i drive it early in the morning it gets stuck on first get for awhile and shifts normal after that ones the transmission warms up could it be just the fluid from sitting for 6 months.
Sounds like a vacuum modulator. Pull the vacuum line off the modulator and see if there is fluid inside. If there is you will need a new modulator, not too expensive. You should get the fluid level checked, and you should be about due for a fluid change.
ok so today i took it to the shop and i had them replace the fluid and filter and i said go ahead and replace the vac mod. i was wondering where does the rpm sit when your goin 65? my rpm is almost between 2k and 2500. is that about right?
transmission does still take longer to shift from the first gear like not long like 8 seconds from first then shifts after that its fine for the rest of the day.
my transmission still taking awhile to shift from driving it cold just does it on the first start up stays in first for 10 seconds the most. i changed fluid and filter and the vacume solenoid
