What does this do?

Bolted to the inside bottom on the Left side(driver) of my front bumper.
An electronic box (4"x3")with heat sinks and a big oval plug.
Ill snap some pics tomorrow, but what does this do? its unplugged and Im leary of reconnecting it.
My truck doesnt have airbags.
Oh
Its a 97 (older style) f-250. 4x4.

I was going to suggest air bags, but since you dont have em, i pic would be better lol. I dont think ive seen anything in the bumpers of our year trucks, might be aftermarket, or it looks stock?

my guess would be the day time running light controler but there usually behind the grill.
