i bought mine in a junkyard for like $150 if i remember correctly. you can also order tailgate skins as well but most of those have the handles shaved (you can buy a tailgate handle relocator kit to fix that problem). if you do the tailgate skin, id suggest getting one from Grant Kustoms (grantkustoms.com). they make damn good products and are top notch people to buy from. they have em for your truck for about $130.
oh and any of the flareside tailgates from a 93+ Ranger flareside/Splash will work
i have a extra tailgate from my '88 styleside, i once tried selling it at a yard sale here. i put on it "free or best offer" someone stopped , paid me 5 bucks for it, and never returned for it. i still have it, too bad it wont fit my '93 box, id use it as a "winter" tailgate and keep the original from more rusting.
Yeah, thats what sucks about living here in Ohio among other things, "winter road salt".
I saw a show on history channel on salt. There's a salt company in Cleveland that spays the salt with some chenical that makes it non corrosive, so it won't eat up bridges and stuff, It would be nice if it didn't eat at our vehicles as well. The salt had a blue tint to it, so I've been watching when the salt shakers go by to see if there using non corrosive salt. So far it's been dark when I see them and can't really tell. That would be awesome here in Ohio, salt that doesn't rust out our cars. I'ld pay a couple more dollars a year in taxes if they would use it.
