cold starts

Im curious how much smoke do guys get when you start your truck.. so far its been 13 outside and my truck starts fine it just smokes smokes at 30 up to 45-50 i belive im sorry only if it sits overnight it probaly smokes for a few minutes does this sound normal i just rolled 100,000 miles but it did this last year with 82000 miles? but like i said it starts right up runs pretty smooth not like its missing or anything

Sounds normal to me. White smoke on startup in cold weather is expected. It's just cold cylinders unable to burn the fuel. As long as the truck starts right up, your glow plugs are working sufficiently. If you do end up with a couple of glow plugs that are worn out, you'll see a slight increase in white smoke.

If you want to see real smoke, try starting at -25 degrees with no block heater. That smoke is so thick it looks yellow next to snow, and will actually stain the snow yellow too. LOL

Yep, just money going out the tail pipes. Mine is less when I start in stock setting. Anything else make mores smoke until engine is warm.

well id say its more blue then white but i dont burn any oil yeah i know last year i started it around -10 with out block heater and it still started heh i was impressed
