1969 429 exhaust manifold questions

I bought a stock original 69 429 2bbl out of a 69 tbird (numbers all line up for that year) the engine is stock never been apart , Im planning on rebuilding it and putting it in my 77 f250

I need to decide on what to do for exhaust. i have (seperate 429 and truck) a 78 f250 2wd with a 429 installed that has headers. will these headers fit?

how about manifolds from a 77-79 2wd 460? are these going to be restrictive cause they were from the smog era?

Its a 4wd I see and you use the manifolds the drivers side car one will fit but the passenger side car one won't. You would have to buy a truck one. I see them on ebay all the time. If you use the headers, are they the kind that go outside the frame? As for the 69 car manifolds they had a lot of problems with cracking and they have the seperate donut gaskets. PITA in my experience. I ended up using 76 lincoln manifolds on my 73 tbird. They have built in donut part and heat risers on the side to prevent cracking. I have seen uncracked 429 tbird manifolds go for $150 on ebay. Wish I didn't throw mine away. Maybe sell them and use the money for headers.

I dont have the original manifolds from the tbird, all i have are a set of headers in a seperate truck (78 2wd 429 f250) and they are the inside framerail type of header

the headers will fit your heads no problem. the exhaust ports are pretty well identical on all 429 and 460 non-cj cars and trucks (the cobra jet exhaust ports were larger than the non-cj ports) till they went to fuel injection. the fuel injected 460 had different exhaust ports also, so those manifolds won't fit the carb'd heads either.

as far as the truck manifolds, they are probably less restrictive as most had 2.5" outlets while most cars had only 2" outlets. not all but most.

The 2wd headers will fit the heads like MIke said but I don't think they will work with the 4wd frame. Never tried it myself though. Just from what I have read. Been looking for a set that would work on my 429 in my 75 4x4. Looks like most people use the ones that go outside the frame rails. I think L and L make a set that should work.

Ok so it looks like its hit and miss if the 2wd headers will fit, Im going to try them anyways maybe i can cut and weld to make them fit but if they do not I need to know exactly which manifolds to order because im going to buy new ones and being from canada shipping is a pain and the exchange rate kinda suxs so i dont wanna make a mistake.

its a 77 f250 4x4 4spd originally with a 351m but going to 69 429.

thanks.
