Axle code question

I was wondering when a truck has axle code h9 wich means limited slip and 3.55 what kinda limited slip/locker is it? i found one in a junk yard for 150 for just the rear, but at another yard i can get a whole truck with just code 19 for 300 and i have a 4x4 wich is what the second one is, would the factory limited slip/locker be pretty good or would a lock rite be better?

Depends what you want to do with it. The factory Trac-Loc is a clutch pack limited slip, it can provide good street traction with a restack of the clutches, but it won't work as well as a true locker offroad.

No, they really aren't the same. The Trac-Loc has a spring in it that presses against the clutch packs, and that is what transfers the energy from the carrier to the side gears. These clutch packs will wear out over time, and you'll loose the ability for the rear end to "lock" up. In the lock right, everything is pretty much connected together, it fits in the carrer where the spider gears and side gears used to be. However it will unlock and then re-lock when going around corners. When it does this though, it makes a very audible ratcheting sound. If you want something that will do good offroad, and not be too bad on pavement, while being quiet, I would look into getting a Powertraxx No-Slip. It installs without removing the carrier, and will provide no-slip traction. If you don't jump on it going around corners, the No-Slip will be pretty much quiet. If you do get on it, it will chirp the tires.
