Just gotta put the front bumper on, the inside door panels and a little signal light work.

Nice IH. What year, engine, tranny. Do you have the Black Diamond inline six. My former FIL used to have a truck with the I6, took a lot of abuse, always did the job.

It is a 1958 International BD-264 motor, 158hp. (The first non-diamond motor) 3 in the tree transmittion.
I used International #2150 red. Bought it at RedHead.
I have now owned the truck for 10 years.

Straight or acrylic enamel?
It sounds like pretty soon some of the paint from auto body supply places maybe restricted some what and harder to buy.

264 cubes...a big six. I know when the IH V8 came out, I think the first cid was 266 or something. Not a big difference between the six and the eight. Always liked the IH pickups.

I recall being in a salvage yard in Wpg., about 8-10 years ago and there was a '74 (know, because it was written on the Paper/Work on the dash) 3/4 ton IH ...sort of a flareside bed, with a 4 speed, 345 IH V8, 4 wd...body seemed to be in fair shape, some rust. It was the last generation of IH pickups...the square look.

An IH fan would of thought he had died and gone to heaven with a find like this.

International powertrains I think were always the best, but the steering, brakes, doors, lights, and accessories always were behind the times and ultimatly caused their dismize. (the 392,345,304, 264 were the popular motors they produced good power and were build extremely well.)

Its just a straight enamel paint I used.

I better end this thread by saying I like Fords. lol there are very few International years I like (1956-1961) The rest I found extremely ugly, but I wouldnt mind using that 1974 powertrain.

Of all the IHC trucks I somehow liked the later ones from the mid 60`s on the best.

i like the scout, looks similar to some bronco years. this truck of ryans looks cool for a Non-ford though i'd probably find some way to be proud of it if it were mine.

Ryan, i should get you pics of a local international enthusiasts 53 International 1/2 ton. a beauty of a restoration, but it has a boat anchor for powertrain...

In those days most of the medium duty and smaller trucks were gassers and the IH's always had a fine rep. I understand that the IH V8 family (all the same block, whether a 266 or a 392) had high nickel content in the block to improve their endurance.

My former FIL also used an early '50's IH (6 cylinder-before the V8's came out) as a grain truck and I drove it quite a bit. I liked it, very rugged, never broke down.

I was quite surprised to see the '74 in the salvage yard, as after it was picked over we know the fate. It was an odd vehicle to be in there as mostly the salvage yard just had GM's, Fords and Mopars...the more usual vehicles. Only time I saw an IH in this yard. I guess someone had it sitting around and sold it for it's scrap value. Unfortunate as I'm sure many an IH fan would of loved to have had it, for a project. I gave it the once over and from what I could see most of the parts were still there. I remember thinking how well built and rugged looking it seemed to be.

Thanks for all the compliments
I like the way the box turned out to, compared to what it used to be atleast.
I was a little questionable about something that came in a aerosal but I think all my trucks are going to have that for a undercoating.

What kinda product did ya use for the bedliner? Is it just bedliner, or just undercoat, or a combo kinda stuff?
