Yes, 4.9, 5.0, and 5.8 all use the same tranny bolt pattern. You need engine mounts and a zero(0) balance flexplate for the 4.9/AOD combo. If you have a complete donor vehicle everything you could need is right there, this is the best way to do it the first time.
Does any one know if this will word in my 85 f150 with 302 and aod tranny
and how hard is it going to be worth it thanks
Ok heres the deal I picked up a 91 e150 with a strong 302 efi and a aod tranny with a deep pan on it for 400 bucks and drove it from T town to Everett wa ran great shifted when it was time
It has the sep belts on it so what i want to know is will it go in my 85 f150 302 efi aod (cause the motor is better than mine) or do i need to swap my stuff to the new one
will the wiring on mune work on it
also I now have almost every thing to hot rod my 85 ranger(HE HE HE I guess I should have said her hot rod )
If they are both 302 motors then no swapping of intake or wiring or computers necessary, just unplug the 2 motors and put the new where the old was.
Ok its not a plug and play just pulled the the 85 out and the trans has no wires coneting to the speedo the 1990 has wires both are 5.0 so now what the f can I make this work or did i just blow the money dont tell me to pull the stuff of the e150 cause its already crushed cause someone told me i didnt need any thing off it to put in my 85 both trans code on jam saids its a AOD code T
also only numbers we found on trans 1985 # 57 and on 1990 53
Help I need this running in the next week or so
Speedo in your '85 should be cable driven not electrical(wires).
How many wires are attached to the '90 tranny?
Is your '85 tranny toast? If not put it back in with the '90 5.0.

yes it is cable and so is the 1990 one but the 90 has 2 wires that plug in to a peice that is part of the speedo gear and than all of that plugs in to trans
on the 85 it only has the speedo gear no wires
Use the spedo drive from the truck's transmission put it into the van's. Also make sure other then that both transmissions are identical. Keep the van's tv cable with the van engine/trans as well... That way you shouldn't have to screw around adjusting it.
Oh that's nothing, just remove the speedo drive from your old tranny and put it on the new one, or just ignore the extra wires since your truck doesn't use them.
