ok started a prject today i took off all the dash trim panels and camo'ed them and it looks really nice!!ill post pics probably tomorrow.but i cant figure out how to get the silver trim pieces off the door panels thats all i have left to do the lock and window control housings are done and the strip that runs across the dash and the heater control bezel.just cant figure out how to get the ones off the door any ideas?it is a 94 im not sure what year they go back to
You may have to remove the whole door panel and undo some fasteners behind. Ford likes to use bent taps and other quick mechanical fastening for smaller pieces of trim. I never took apart a truck of your era, but if it doesn't come off easily, its safe to assume its held in my something other than a simple snap on clip. in other words, don't use a BFH.
Looks great though, how in the world did you manage that? Did you spray it on, or is it some kind of decal?
well sounds kinda goofy but in the huntin section of walmart they had some of that camo tape on sale for a buck a roll so i bought a couple went home and pulled my pieces off laid the tape on the flat part and used my lighter to barely heat it up and form it then tucked the rest behind so it would hold good.dont put the pieces on a wooden spoon in a microwave though.i did that to keep them level just seein if the microwave would form it for me well the spoon is nolonger with us.haha the ole lady was really.....well you can guess.but its not to hard once ya figure out how to use the lighter to heat the tape
. david85 ya figured it out for me it was little metal tabs on the back side of the panel tore them off and already have the panels put back together and they look sweet.now to put them back in the truck
o thanks for the compliment dave.one of my neighbors said he would sell mea complete sticker kit for it for $20 he said he bought it a couple years ago off a guy that didnt know what it was.so im gonna camo the whole truck.better put orand window tint on so ill be able to find it when elk huntin.haha
