hey guys im usually on the idi forum but im working on my friends 2000 explorer and cant get the stinkin fuel filter off.i dont know if the quick connect tool just isnt going deep enough or what.have these been a bear for anyone else?any pointers?
I assume you have gotten it already, but I have been off for awhile, and see noone has replied.
Obviously start by relieving the fuel pressure and be sure to wear safety glasses. I usually lay a clean shop rag over my nose and mouth as I do not have a face shield. Insert the tool into the hose on one side of the filter. Then push the hose onto the tool a bit and remove them from the filter as a unit. It is not easy, but once you get the feel of it, you will have no problem doing the other side.
Good Luck
