stupid question about cup holders

for me this happens when a drink pushes the bottom part past its usual point. on my drink holder (06) the bottom gets pushed up as it slides in, but there is a tab that might have extended past where it should be so the tab is catching underneath. try and push the bottom up and see where its catching.

The 99-04 dash has a very similar cup holder setup. You might need to lift the bottom up and slide it in. If all else fails, it comes out as a unit. A couple of screws on the hook panel below it and then three going up into the cup holder. With it out, you might see what the problem is.

Here's a link to my gallery where I gave pictures and instructions on how to remove and replace the cupholder on my 99 F250. Should be pretty much the same on the 05-07 trucks too. Guess it might be a little to late to help you out though

The cup holder on my 2000 F250 is missing some parts. Would anyone have a parts diagram?
Even a picture or drawing would help me see what is missing.

Ed (FTEPartsguy) is my usual connection for Ford parts. y2kfordparts seems to do a good job for the people that use them too.
Ebay sometimes has the cupholders on there if you search around. Be sure to get the new style and not the old ones.
To the guy wanting a parts diagram I don't think you will find one. The cupholder comes from the dealer as one assembly, you can't buy individual pieces for it.

rubber surrounds? get the 02+ holder (its awesome)
