Well I replaced my spark plugs last year with NGK V-Power. Nothing fancy, no Iridium or Platinum. I put on about 20,000 miles and they worked flawless. I now have 127,000 miles.
I decided to tune my truck up. I ordered rebuilt fuel injectors, new COPS and Motorcraft plugs. The injectors cost me $129, COPS were $80 and new plugs $25. I wasn't sure how installation would go, but I thought why not. The total job took about three hours for everything at a slow pace. The outcome was unbelievable, not that my truck ran bad or anything but it made a huge difference in power and acceleration. The best $234.00 I spent. I will check my gas mileage this week and see if there is any improvement. The power alone is worth it to me.
niiiiice... folks always seem to wait until something goes wrong or breaks...then they cant figure out what plug it is, or what COP it is, and they go nuts... very smart idea to do a tune up like this... even if just for peace of mind... it wasnt expensive and now you know that part of your electrical system is good to go til at least 200k miles.
After Almost Two Weeks And Two Tanks Of Gas My Overall Gas Mileage Has Improved 1 Gallon To 13.4mpg Overall (city/highway). We Have Expierenced Several Snowfalls During This Time And Being Winter, I'm Sure This May Not Be A True Reflection.
13.4 MPG with an exhaust & chip. Are you running a larger tire than stock. Mine was much better than that before I lifted it. I get 13 now with the 36's and im at 6000 feet, Thats like 15% power lose right there.
