You can probably check all the pinging, seafoam, etc.. threads. I bet there is an answer in there for you somewhere.

Did you put a hand vac directly on the EGR valve and verify it does open?

I hear or rather read here you can suck on the line with your mouth as a test of sorts. Haven't tried that one but sounds like it would work in a pinch, a quick test at least show it does move?

It should hold vacuum, not leak down. Drawing some odd 8 to 12hg of vac on it should drop the idle a couple hundred rpm's or a little more as the motor stumbles, more should tend to or stall it right out.

If you can read the codes you can clear the codes, it's better to do that than wipe out the whole computer memory by disconnecting the battery. This is because it may take several drive cycles for the computer to relearn the necessary fuel and timing adjustments and get back to the condition where the code was set, and when it does if you didn't properly fix the problem the code will come back. So this just wastes time, if the codes were just cleared you would know almost immediately if the problem is correctly fixed.

Code 33 says EGR valve movement wasn't detected. So that indicates it didn't move when commanded(bad EVR), the position sensor is faulty(EVP), or the vacuum line between the EVR and EGR valve is broken.

Oh chit, I see now I misread your first post.

I've replaced egr valve & evp sensor, I read that as evr, as in the two most likely, and certainly the cheapest, parts of that system to fail where replaced first......

Of course a new EGR valve would open with vac applied to it!

Found my problem guys, the solenoid has 2 nipples for the 2 vacuum lines. When I slid the vacuum lines on I missed one of the nipples.

I have found out that I have a bad FPR. I hope when I get this replaced it will take care of my running rich.

Thanks for all your help
