Neil - it wasn't what I was looking for to wheel, but as you said the price was right. The truck is in really great shape for a 1994 and is very solid. I just need to figure out what I really want to do with it so that I know how to build it. Currently I am leaning towards a hybrid trail, prerunner, expedition vehicle. All I have been doing with it now is getting it running right and making it reliable. And yes I will keep you posted on its progress.

If I was in your shoes, I would take my sweet time and research, research and research some more before making a final decision. As you mentioned, it is solid so that is a great plus and if I remember correctly, you were looking for something along the line of a Jeep or similar rig.

That is exactly what I am doing. I have been reading a lot when I can and trying to determine exactly how I am going to wheel this rig. Just before I got rid of my Range Rover I was starting to get into a lot of seasonal and fire road running. The suspension on the Range Rover was not setup for that at all, but I don't want to setup the Ranger for that and suck on the trail. Hence the hybrid wheeling rig.

And yes you are correct I was looking for a Jeep, but everyone wanted too much money for what they had. I was looking at building it along the lines of a JeepSpeed vehicle. The Ranger was just too good of a deal to pass up and if I don't like it I can always sell it and build something else.
