I have a question about camber bushings I hope somebody can help me with. I used to do front end alignments at a shop a while ago and know how much of a pain it is to have to tear the front end of a 4 wheel drive truck apart to install camber bushings. Well I'm about to put all new balljoints in our 82 bronco (172,000 miles and the factory ones finally gave out) and figured that I might as well go the extra mile and throw in some new camber bushings so its easier for the tech to align. My question is what degree bushing would be best to go with. The bronco is completely stock. The tire size is 235/75/15. There is no lift at all and it has a 300-6 under the hood. I'm wondering what would be a fair degree bushing that would somewhat provide some kind of medium as far as alignment goes. I know this is kind of hard to tell without having the truck on a rack. What bushings are in there from the factory? Should I just stick with those. Do the factory bushings even provide any adjustment? I cant tell without taking the knuckle off and I am not that far yet.
I would recommend that you go to the aftermarked retailer. I use at work the bushings by a company called MOOG. These bushings are 2 piece so there is a lot of adjustment available. The bushing looks factory. The exception is that it looks like a little bushing in the middle, you can turn just the outside, just in inside, or both in the sme diredtion or seperate ways. This is why Moog calls these bushings the problem solvers. An other company that might have tham is Spicer. Right now in the area I work Spicer is replacing the whole Moog lineup of parts, so they might have them too.
