Changed GPR finally !

bdrummonds - maximus overdrive got me motivated with his LED post. After riding the new GPR around, sliding back and forth across the dash for days, I finally changed out the bad one. 29 this morning and the 250 fired up like it was a young Pup. No smoke, no extended cranking and nor romping. Shoulda done it before it turned cold.

Nothing to it, just go ahead and do it ! Haven't done the LED yet. No telling how long it will have to ride before it goes in ! Thanks for the motivation bdrummonds, us Southern Boys need to have glow plugs at least a few mornings every Winter don't we ?

Brandon,

Palmetto is Southwest of Atlanta, about 30 miles, just far enough to be comfortable without the big ciity problems. It's "the country" and a good place to live. I moved here from Southeast Ga. (Savannah) in 1996 to retire.

Like all good FTE members I broke open the old GPR when I got it off. It was toasted, didn't make a picture but there are others on the site and it looked the same. I think for this one shining moment everything is working as it should be. Good trucks, I love mine !

Shoot Bob, were only about 90-100 miles from each other, We'll have to get together one day. Millbrook is just north of Montgomery Al., bout 10 miles or so.
Glad everything is working as it should. We'll talk soon.

We'll have to do that for sure. I go to Mississippi (Greenwood) a couple of times a year and pass through Alabama. We'll hook up sometime after the holidays and hunting season. It'd be a good day trip.

This is my first diesel and I love it. I've learned alot on FTE and am not afraid to jump on anything. I've been turning wrenches a long time on car and tractor restorations and learned everything I know "the hard way" !

By the way, the 250 is cranking like it was brand new. It's been cold here, high 20's. Anybody that is plugging in, grinding on the starter, smoking up the place etc. instead of fixing the GPR should go ahead and do it, its easy.
