While anything can be restored you`d better have very deep pockets, just re pop parts, if available, can kill most budgets. Don`t ask how I know this.........
Speaking of which Morris, what did ya think of that 65 mustang with the busted up front end, from kijiji? I was very much considering trying to go take a look at it, but second guessed when i seen how smashed the front end was.
I see he sent you a reply too as well as a few others. After seeing only those small 2picutures I can`t reallytell what shape it`s really in. He did mention some rust as well but that`s to be expected.
If you want we could have a look at it Wed or Thrusday if he gets back to me with a phone number and location.
Well, you can let me know if he does get back to you, I wont be around then, but if by some chance you get to check it out on the weekend then for surely let me know, as i would love to check it out!
I`m not too hot on it but we`ll see, if it`s around for a while I may have a look at it. I`ve got 2 other stripped out 65-6 Mustangs sitting here, one V8 car with a front frame section.
You can order just about 90% of the panels for that car. Even frame rails. I seen those shells at morris. The one has been cut a bit or damgaed around the passenger post.. But a person can pull the front frame rails from it and patch what panels need to be done and then fit onto the other 65. Its a lot of work, but the value of the car outways the costs when done.
From what I remember the front uniframe were decent and repairable. Guy would still take what morris has and make a new car from them.
I wouldn`t replace the front frame section without a frame machine or a good set of measurements, it`s easy to get it out of wack causing major problems in wheel wheel alignment. Most of the time it can be straightened so if it`s that far gone or rusted out, I`d quickly pass on this one.
Depending on what I`m working on I usually have only enough patience for the first day or so, after that it`s some what downhill. I have to do my work in stages which takes awhile, sooner or later the job does get done.
