I'll preface this a little, I just got back in from a couple hours of snow shoveling and started thinking about what mods to do to the truck in the spring. My truck is in storage in another town and on top of a lift, the owner of the shop also just left for Arizona (the smart guy) so I have no access until April.
I'm in need of a couple pics of the top of the dash, specifically if a shot could be taken with a tape measure held from the windshield to the edge of the dash pad just above the speedo. I'm looking for how much room I have behind the pad as well as the total room. Thank you to anyone willing to entertain my daydreaming.
i would be happy to help, i am in London right now, but my truck is out at my dads garage at his house in the resto process in the country near ingersoll, and there is no way i can get to it till Saturday, even then i could not get it up here till Sunday night, around 10pm! sorry i can't help, but i am sure someone will chime in soon, and have a pic for ya, and do you guys got snow where you are? there's no snow in London! bare roads and lawns! which is sweet! and your right he is a smart guy!, i wish i was in Florida right now anyways chat with ya later. and good luck!
No problem Brent. It's been snowing almost every day, we loose a little when the temp gets above zero but then it snows some more. Oh well, makes me appreciate the summer that much more .
The way I understand it is
He wants to take that Monster Tach and mount it
"Heads Up " on the dash, right above where it sits now
he wants to make a housing to cover it and give it a clean/finished look
if I have made any mistakes John please correct me
Of course I painted it white and the paint didn't stick so-good-to-the
window gasket sealer they smeared all over the place at the factory. LOL :)
(or the galvanizing either huh?;)
Had a piece of black carpet from PepBoys screwed down that covered
the dash-up real nice tho...
_See the "U" nuts I put in the empty slots?
_I modified them to fit using a bench grinder. :)
_Used black screws with the loose washer on them.
...but the sorry stuff couldn't handle the sun, even tho it said it could
right on the friggin package. :/ Just need to try again I guess? :/
I have to put something dark on the dash just to see where I'm going. LOL :)
