Help Choosing Power Programmer
I have an '05 4x with the 5.4l in it. I am looking to buy a programmer. There are alot of companies out there like Edge, Hypertech, Gryphon, etc...I am looking for an easy to use, easy install, some gain in horsepower and fuel mileage if possible. I dont neccesarily need all the the little extras that some of them offer like 0-60, and quarter mile times. It would be nice to read and reset codes and adjust for tire size though. Let me know what you guys are running; Likes and dislikes. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I got the sct x3 from 5startuning.com Its a great and easy programmer. Mike is the guy that sold it to me he is a memeber on here and is very helpful. I got the 87 economy 91 tow and 91 performance settings. The 91 performance setting is a big difference. I would highly recomend it. You can change shift points, rpm, tire size, gear ratio, shift firmness and a few other things along with trouble shooting check engine codes. Give him a try. Not a bad price either. He will probably be along. I highly recomend him

I have tried JET and Hypertech would do a hypertech again easy install , reasonable $ seat of the pants difference and has evrything you are looking for. So long as you DO NOT have or plan on installing a cold air intake. If so you will need a custom tune.

magnet1 also take a look at SCT. Very flexible device. Would work on any Ford Vehicle with Custom tunes. We have some xmas promos going on see link... Most of the user options have been mentioned by Still Smoking

EDGE 5 minutes and 35 horse power plus 50 lbs of tourqe got to luv it plus it is user friendly and that is setting 3 the tow setting works well to

One more thing about 5 star when you call,Mike answers the phone Mike answers your questions he doesnt put you on hold.Ive heard guys on hear trying to call edge for days and not getting thru.That to me makes it worth every penny.

x2 on that. I emailed him on a sunday and within a half hour or so I got an email back. I never thought I would have gotten an answer on a sunday. Never called him but through email he is always quick to get back with you. Great guy.

I enquired about a tuner from Mike a while ago....life got in the way and I still haven't purchased one, but Mike has been dilligent at showing me offers and promotions while not being annoying or pushy. Quite frankly, there MAY be better products out there.....I don't care. I am buying from mike when the time comes, regardless.
