I just got my console and I'm in love. But theres one problem. The color is not even close. My truck has gray interior. I think it's called medium stone or medium flint. The box almost looks tan but it's suppose to be for the gray trucks. I tried the search function first because I saw someone painted the box but the search function appears to be broken. What color paint is going to be close enough? Something like krylon fusion (what color code)? I don't want to spend 50-100 buck on a can of factory matched paint. Please hurry and reply because I want to get this bad boy in my truck!
You might try just putting it in and see if the color difference is noticable. After all, you can't see that much of the console sides when it is in place.
But if you want to paint it, just get a can of the paint that is used on gauge pods. Any place that sells the pods will usually sell the paint too.
Okay, it's done. I went to advance auto and got some paint and prep wipes. I took the console apart and went to painting. I think it came out pretty well.
Here it is after I put it back to together.
When I pulled the seats out I found my cigarette lighter, 50 cents and about thrity tooth picks from the previous owner. Heres a shot after the quick clean up.
Here she is almost complete.
I wired it for power and checked it with my phone charger. It only has power with the ignition on.
Finished product.
I think the color is alot better. I'm not sure what to think about the black parts and the chrome trim ring around the drink holders but I'll leave it alone for now. There is a blank plug on the back for a power point. I might wire that up at a later date. I paid $137.50 shipped for the box and about $10 for paint and prep.
One small problem. I just went on a drive and noticed my airbag light was flashing. It flashed for awhile and then went steady on. I assume this has something to do with me unpluging the seats. Is there something I have to do to reset the light?
You can use SEM interior paints. They are a bit more $ vs. regular spray paint but they are cheaper than those gauge pod cans. I used SEM Landau black. The only thing that sucks is if anything scratches it, it shows the tanish color.

Did you get that fixed? I would also suggest checking the seat plugs to make sure they are connected. A few start/off cycles might reset the bag fault code. If not, try disconnecting the batteries for 20 minutes to reset the computers.
Not Fixed yet. I'm going outside in a bit and I'm going to check the plugs. If that doesn't work I'm going to disconnect the battery for awhile to see if that works.
