just hoping you all could post some pictures of things you have done to your trucks to help me think of where to go. i have a 2001 f150 regular cab 2" lift and was wondering what i could do to make it look more badass.
There are lots of things you can do. I have a moonvisor, tonneau cover, offroad lights mounted in my grill, projector headlights, I picked up a set of steel rims and painted them black, as well as repainted the whole bottom of the truck black. and nerf bars down the sides and tail lights covers.
I also have a 2 inch lift and 33 inch tires. heres a pic.
yea love both ur trucks, im soon to have 33s myself so it was great to see what they would look like on my truck. im diggin the step-up bars but i think they look better on taller trucks like handshakers, and i dont know if ill ever go that big, not cuz i dont want to but because im only 20 so im poor of course. mine just has a 2" body lift, are there bigger ones than that i could buy to replace them because they arent that expensive
Don't have any lift on mine but it's got 285's on it, thinking of getting some chrome as I'm not a huge fan of the blacked out look and this is how I bought it but it's got the lighted visor on it, chrome step rails, and a black bull bar...not a whole lot but a few things anyways.
I don't have any pics handy, but here's an idea. While washing mine one day, I blew some of the paint off of one fender flare w/ my pressure washer. So I took all four off, sanded them, and painted them black (krylon fusion paint, made flexible for plastic). They were body color (gold). This changed the whole persona of the truck. Then next time I bought tires, I bought 285/16's and a new set of wheels, which got me away from the more expensive 17's. Cost me about $1100 for wheels and tires, same tire in a 17 was about $900 from the same shop. Next time I buy tires, they will be about $650 , which will save me money each time. I will try to post some pics soon.
i dont have updated pics yet, but so far i also added the lightning headlights, clear corners, smoked euro tails, and a billet grille. The billet grille was just a bolt-over type application so its easy, no cutting and fitting. The one i bought has the hole in the middle for your emblem to show thru. It is actually on the truck in my gallery. other than that so far mine is pretty much stock.
Hey shaker if you don't mind me asking what did those wheels set you back, I love the looks of those and might have to look into some for my 150. By the way you have a great looking truck.
thanks guys! i bought the wheels and tires off a guy for a good price! (which is why i said be on the lookout for deals) i got them for 700 bucks.
the wheels are ION 165 polished aluminum. they are 17"X10" wide. i think you can get them for like 170 new or something from summitracing.com i think. I dunno.
Look for tint i'd post pictures but i'm at school and i can't provide pictures but if money's an option look for headlight and tail light shades instead of the lightning headlights. also look into tinting the windows for sure, limo looks best, i wouldn't mess with the colored or highly reflective stuff myself. also a good looking set of wheels and tires. another thing that could make your truck badass as well as set it apart is a nice design or pinstripe all around ya know, make it personal, make it yours.
this is seperate and i dont know if anyone mentioned this but for your eblems. they might look like a casual black like errbody elses. take a acetone and put them on some cotton swabs and take the paint off the emblems to make them a silver chrome appearance, it adds that unique factor. or if you want to do something that's out there but might require some look, go no emblems and if you want have the f-150 pinstriped on there.
definately anything you spend money on the appearance of your truck though will make it look better but what is a truck that is all show but no go, a real truck has stuff under the hood as well so...it's up to you.
