if you want to make it not ride rough the best way would be to put springs out of a newer superduty.i have heard it is fairly easy.i dont think shocks will do too much for ya you have a truck built to work not a truck built to drive around and pick up chicks.my 94 dont ride the best but i kinda like it.it rides real good with about 1000lbs in it though.the one other thing you could do is take the add a leaf out and put in airbags.that add a leaf will make it a little stiffer.

My 86 doesn't ride much worse than my 99 1/2 ton and I've got a dually kit.

Shocks make very little difference in rough riding trucks.

You could remove some leaves from the springs, but then forget about hauling anything.

The other option, put a couple hundred pounds in the bed and you will be amazed at how much better it rides.

my 87 does not ride to bad. i mean its not bad enough to make the sterio skip. it has 36-12.50-16.5 wrangler r/t military tires on it. and a 4" lift with heavy duty front springs. its got a steel flat bed on it too. some roads mine rides good were as my dads 03 1 ton dually rides rough as can be.
