Solid Ground

Man, I saw this thread title and I know that Kris really liked him, and I thought he was going to ask him questions, but I didn't open it, because I thought it wouldn't pertain to my mild truck. As I saw how long the thread got and so fast, and knowing what line of work he (solid ground) was in, I got a bad feeling about it. I knew when I opened it up what it was going to say, before I ever read a word. I am truly sorry for this to have happened. I can't put in words what the sentiments I have for his wife and boys, and the rest of his family. I have been dealing with the senseless death of a good friend and her 8 year old son less than a month ago and I know what it is doing to her husband and other 2 year old son. These things absolutely suck!

I finally found the post where I first communicated with Jet. It was on 02/02/08 and someone else posted up needing a console lid. Long story short, after a few pm's I sent my console to Jet. Man this type of stuff sucks. He seemed like a really nice person and I know he helped several people more than I ever will.

So we can figure it happened in Arkansas? Big in chickens in that state I know, so a search of Little Rock newspapers may be a start. That is what I got out of Kris's first post was that it happened in slick ******* state.

The original message was edited for Kris from myself. As the resident jerk I felt it wasn't my place to deliver such news.
To be clear, Jet was shot Friday, died Sunday the 30th. An unidentified man died Friday night. Michael Schumaker, the third man shot, died this morning. My wife kept an obituary copy they had at the funeral yesterday. I quoted it for Kris. Ceremony was at his family's church in Benton, LA and he's buried in the family plot here in LR at Calvary Cemetary.
I saw on our local Fox news Saturday night that "an Arkadelphia man shot and wounded three would be thieves." Nothing else. They were in Subiaco, the man shooting might have been from Arkadelphia, I don't know.
I've known Jet for a couple of years, worked for him as a skip trace specialist for six months now. I've never, in all my years, met anyone that leaves the impression he leaves. An absolutely amazing person. He would've paid this man's debt if it would've prevented this.
Financially, his brother tells me Jet's been very well prepared for this, "he planned on retiring at 40!"
I'll update as often as I can. I don't want to stick my nose where it doesn't belong. It just hasn't been long enough to go prying. His family is particularly private. I don't blame them for it. Not these days.
