exhaust hanger options

adding new tip muffler and cat so I am losing 3 oem exhaust hangers. I would like to raise the rear tip up closer to the body, can i still use the piece the old hanger goes into ? who sells something like the old L piece that is not weld on ? i am using band clamps lap and butt to connect the stuff, thanks

I've wondered the same thing myself. Never seen any of the stock-style hangers in any of the parts stores.

I can post some pics of my hangers and what I made to keep the tailpipe/tip lined up nice. Give me a day or two to get pics.

wouldnt a muffler/exhaust shop be a good place to search ???

if anyone had access to such parts surely they would...

Utilize the factory rubber hangers on the truck already. To replace the L bent pieces welded onto the pipe is easy. Take a piece of 1/2" stainless rod bend the L in it. Buy an aftermarket stainless U bolt clamp and weld on the L piece to the clamp. You now have a clamp/hanger that is completely adjustable. To make shure the L piece doesn't slip out of the hanger I used some stainless shaft collars I made, but they can be bought also. Will post pics soon.
