I am working on my 2001 F-150 and I need to know what they now call the device that bolts to your front axel houseing that engages your hubs when you shift into four wheel drive.
To me this has always been the actuator but I dont think that it is called that anylonger. Just like ball joints are now upper control arms... etc etc.
I have attempted to look the part up in autozone, advance, and called my local junkyard and no one lists a part like this for this truck. I even put a blast out on the internet for used parts and it returned nothing. Any suggestions?
The reason that I am replacing it, is when I pull the shifter nothing happens. If I pull the vaccuum lines I have vaccuum, and if I manually depress the plunger with a pair of pliers I have 4WD.
