Gem

Ok so i have all the tell tale signs of a bad gem. The signs show up only when it rains and so far it has always cleared itself up after drying out .Well this time the map lights and compass have yet to come back . How bad is it to change the gem and how much is it going to cost ( I will be doing the install) . Is there any hope of pulling it out and fixing it or do I just replace it . TIA

what year and model of vechicle and on most trucks the gem has to be programed and the front windshield needs to be re sealed or replaced as needed.

The GEM is model year, model, and options specific. Make sure that you order the correct one for the truck, the delaer will likely need the VIN. The GEM is located on the back of the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side of the truck. The fuse panel has to be pulled, the GEM separated and process reversed. Good luck!
