step protectors

Starting the rebuild of my 64 F100 SWB. The interior is white so the steps on the inside of the door opening are white. Has anybody attached rubber or some other kind of protector to these steps. I am sure new paint will be shot within a month plus it is a bear to keep clean. Old legs and back necessitates I use the step so ??? Any suggestions?

How about spray -on truck bed liner like Rhino Lining or uquivalent?I'm slowly restoring a 1965 F-800 and thats my plan for the running boards.

I had the same issue. The step always looked dirty and the paint wore off. I put black bed liner on the step portion only. I masked off the rest so there was a nice straight and clean line. It looks real good and it is slip resistant.

They also sell non-slip stick on strips to keep the white paint showing without scuffing it. Just a thought.
