I saw a photo where they mounted the GPS unit in the sun glass holder in the overhead console. Looked good.

The reason why I asked was that if you are interested in possibly doing something like this, I have an overhead console out of my '01 XLT that I would be more than willing to ship down to you if you want it.
I am not sure if your truck would have the mounts in it or not. I would think that it would. The reason why I have it is because the compass/temp display in it took a dump. In order to fix it, I had to get a used one that I found on ebay and it was easier to swap the overheads than to do anything else.
I would take you up on that Neil but like you I am not sure on the mounts. I cant remember if the dome light is different or not. Also Is your truck a regular cab?
