92 f150 starting/running problem

i have a 92 f150 4.9. one day truck would not start. sounded like it was out of time.if i turn distributor clock wise all the way it will start.it runs barely, i let it run then slowly turn distributor back to were it was.it will idle all day.if i give it to much gas it dies.feather the gas and it is driveable.shut it off for two seconds wont start.

First off I'd hook up a fuel pressure gauge and check the reading. Since it does start the ignition system is working. Low fuel pressure could cause the problem.

fuel pressure ckecked good.i had one code 327 .that is'' egr valve position circuit below minimum voltage.'' i dont think this would effect start up.any more ideas would be appriciated.

An EGR valve stuck open would make it hard to start.
