Hi guys, I have a few questions regarding an injector issue. The only way I can get my truck to fire is if the IPR is grounded out, and when it starts it will idle really nice for 5 - 10 seconds and then go into a low rough idle. So yesterday I pulled the VC (passenger side) to check for any leaks around the injectors, I couldn't see any leaks but I did notice the the third injector back was not squirting oil like all the others do, just a few drips and that is it. Could this be more of an O-ring issue? or poppet? How can I tell if I have AA or AB injectors? Also, just called the ford dealer to check on an o-ring kit and they have XC3Z-9229-AB instock and said it will work on both AA and AB. Is he correct?
Thanks for the response Cuda. The IPR is new. Using some wire, I slipped it in the back side (ground wire) of the connector, then attached the other side to a good ground to max out the pressure. I have the injector out and have just R&R'd the o-rings. just have to remove all the oil and fuel from the cylender and re-install the it. off the top of your head, do you know what size socket to use on the glowplugs?
thanks
Coon, I have seen it on other sites and was also told by a ford tech. obviously you don't want to run it very long. It was the only way to check a few things without a scanner.

Yep, that will command the IPR to full pressure and at least 50% duty cycle.
Sounds like an HPOP is in yor future if you need to do that.
