I'm also a fan of those old COE. That's a lovely truck in the photos. ou don't see many MDT restored, especially a COE. I still recall the first one that I saw. Metro Transit, our municipal bus company, used to use one in the '50's to about '70. We had electric buses that got their power from long rods that attached to the electric wiring (sort of like hydro poles) over the streets.
They used a cab over-can't recall if it was a Ford or GMC, think it was a Ford-with a box filled with supplies and equipment. On top of the truck box was a work platform that they would stand on while fixing the lines. I think this was before cherry pickers.
Another one I recall from those days of yesteryear..as they used to say on the '50's tv show...the Lone Ranger...was another '50's TV show...Cannonball. The two long distance highway truckers used to drive their COE with trailer to different adventures while on the road. Great show, but think the COE might of been a GMC.
Slammed would be sweet Kirk but heck, I`ll take this nice stocker in a hoof beat, any day!
A hoof beat is stronger than the heart bleat of America by the way.....
I have actually started seeing alot of the older semis and large trucks converted to a pickup with a stepside box. Most of them look good. I dont think this one would be the best bet,
Longer lower cabs are used more often for a balanced look, A old one like this would be a good bet. http://www.petroleumhistory.org/OilH...rucks/R200.jpg
