Broken LPOP
Hey everybody, happy thanksgiving. So my 6.0 quit on me a couple of weeks ago, no oil pressure and a pretty big leak when it quit. I finally found the time to tear into it and I found that the inner ring of the oil pump was broken and when it broke it actually cracked the front cover in several places, just wondering if any one else has experienced this and if anyone has an idea of price and avail. for the front cover and oil pump, 63,000 miles this cant be a common problem, can it?

it's more common on tuned engines than those running stock, but otherwise not a frequent failure..some guys say to run a fluidamper to help protect the LPOP..others say the fluidamper causes the failure...
contamination of the rest of the LPO system can also be a problem after the LPOP goes..

Yeah I have some concerns about contamination, the truck is an 03 and the waranty ran out on oct 31. So much for that. I didnt know if anyone here actually had this problem and if the new front cover comes with an oil pump thanks guys.
