Any thoughts on Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's?

I recently got a 97 F-150 XLT Scab 4X4.

It has Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos on it. It'll need new tires by next winter, and I have no experience with Bridgestones. I have had Michelin XCX/APT's on my old truck (91 F-250 Scab 4X4) and I have been satisfied with those.

So far the Bridgestones have been OK, but we haven't had any snow yet...

I'm looking for a tire choice with low noise, good wet/dry & snow performance.

I don't plan to off road the truck in any terrain any more challenging than a construction site, and then only rarely.

I usually buy Michelin, or BF Goodrich (which is now owned by Michelin anyway) for my cars, so those brands are familiar to me.

I guess I should get comfortable with the idea of buying Japanese, since we may have no choice soon anyhow........

The size is 265/70R17

I have Revos on the Expedition and my Ram work truck. I absolutely love the Revos. They do excellent on snow, ice, rain, dry, etc and are quiet to boot.

Good tire but may cost more than they are worth. I like them but can't ever justify buying them when other tires cost so much less and are nearly as good.

I've heard nothing but good things about the tires you have on it now....
i have the Cooper ATR's and LOVE them.
there are so many trucks here, older and newer that run them....check out the new flash site Cooper Tires. Don't Give Up A Thing. Ultra-High Performance, Passenger, Light Truck, SUV, Motorsport, Motorcycle and Commercial Tires
i'd be interested in your postings on it.
i run them on my 2001 and love them doing pretty much what you do. my "off roading" is find a field after rain/snow and getting into about 2-4" of crap, that's it! they wear great on the road and I THINK they are quiet.

They are nice tires with good traction, but they are expensive and they dont last very long.
Id go with Goodyear Wranger AT/Ss instead. They have just as much traction, but are less expensive and will last much longer.

Not very long ?? 50,000 mile warenty I thought ??

IMOP 4 years is the max you want to run any tire

I change every two years or so.

I have them on my truck and they are tops. I think they are as good as the bfg all-terrains and older duelera/ts. I have had several sets of each. I am going to buy another set when these are gone. Search around for prices. I went to a firestone store and did pretty good compared to the on-line sites.

I know a lot of people who are only getting 30,000 miles out of those tires. Even with a 50,000 mile warranty, that only covers flaws is workmanship. If you wear them out before 50,000 miles, its not as if Bridgestone is going to replace them.

It sounds like I have your same truck n3up
and I put those Bridgestones on it in this size 285x70 12 about 10k miles ago and love them... quiet, awesome rain traction, no experience with ice, snow, mud...

I got them new for only $140 a tire... you'll have to find the best tire for your budget, if you can afford them for w/e your local shops charge go for it they're great tires.

I have the Dueller AT Revos and absolutely love em. Low noise, long life, awesome traction - all of the above. I now live near Seattle, WA and they do really well in LOTS of rain and standing water. I got roughly 45k outa my last pair and replaced them a little early to tow a trailer from North Dakota to Virginia. My only hesitation is that if you're not going to be using it off road much you may be better suited for a more dedicated road tire that will probably be cheaper and handle the occasional dirt road/construction site OK. Good luck shopping!

I used to have the Timberline ATs on my Explorer. They were good on the highway and around town. When you throw deep snow, mud, fields, etc at them they are not good. They suck up mud and snow like it is nobody's business. Not bad tires though for the price and I was very happy with them other than the off-road and deep snow
