lost owners manual
ok i just bought a 99 f250 witha a 5.4l and the owners manual is missing from the truck and i dont know wat weight oil and howmany quarts the recomend i know my 4.2 uses 5w 20 but im not sure of the 5.4 plese help me!!!

Looks like it says 5W30 but I didn't see the capacity. My '04 5.4L takes 6 quarts with filter.

A while back for issued a bulletin on the modular motors that suggested using 5w20 for almost all the applications, even if the truck originally spec'd 5w30. I did this in my 00 f150. The spec's for 5w20 are pretty good, and i figured the thinner better oil would help with startup etc. Some have complained their engines were noisier. Food for thought. Nothing really changed in the newer motors that the spec'd the 5w20 for.
