Well I had something irritate me this morning. I opened the turkey to get it ready to cook, and all the instructions where in spanish. I didn't notice it when I bought it at dillons. Now I have a great sympathy for those in a foreign country that can't speak the language (been ther myself several times) but is it me or are we coddling people so they don't have to learn english. Bank of ameirca ATMS offer several languages and you have to pick one. There are bilingual persons hired to translate everything. I was actually at an atm in very southern Kansas where you had to pick one for english... it was in spanish by default. Now I have nothing against somone coming here (Leagally BTW) and trying to start a new life... but dang it!! I shouldn't have to figure out how many Horas my turkey is to cook, and at what Celcius.(Which my oven isn't even marked for) It just kinda chaps my ****.
Canada has a law that everything must be in french and english... Guess we are not too far from something simular.
We'll soon have that law too, but it will have to be in either English or Spanish. LOL
I agree on needing to learn english. I'm a liberal sort on lots of stuff, but my ancesters learned english and most could not speak the "mother tongue" after a generation. I'm all for folks retaining their heritage and even learning more than one language, but.....
