I just bought a 2007 Expedition EL limited and it has pretty much every option inclusing navigation, but does not have the rear entertainment center (tv/dvd). I found someone selling a OEM tv/dvd system and would like to order it over the net, but wondering if I need to do all the wiring or if they all come prewired for it? Am i better off buying an aftermarket one?
my guess is that if it's a "limited", it is probably pre-wired for it. if not, there are a/m options you can buy as well. my wifes focus zts(top of line model) did not come with the heated seats, but upon inspection under the rug, the wires were there, so all i had to do was buy the required parts, and it has been working fine for over 4 years. pull the headliner down and do a visual.
I am pretty sure that is would be pre-wired. But if you get the oem you also have to send in your navigation unit to get it reprogrammed to recognize the dvd player.
Another option is headrest monitors. You can buy replacement monitors and have two separate dvd players. They are under $1000 on ebay. Here is one set.
