300 4.9 Lifter Tap

300 4.9 Lifter Tap
I have replaced the valve seals in my 1988 300 4.9, brought every cylinder up to dtc individually( both valves closed) tighten up rocker arms to recommened torque, and now i have a worse tap than I had when I started. Could it be one of my lifters? All the lifters seem to push up fine when I turn the engine over by hand. What makes the 300 tap in the first place? The seals was the only thing other than gaskets that I replaced. This is my first time attemping this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
