ok hello there.
Im having what i belive is a wiring issue with my passenger side window on my 95 f150. To start off, i recived the truck recently from a local guy and he told me that it wasnt working because the motor was done. Or so he belived. So yesterday i proceded to take off the door pannel and get the old one out of there. After i did this i went a bought a brand new motor for the window. Well earlier today i hooked it all up before putting it in the door to make sure it would work.
My problem is, with the wires connected properly the motor only wants to go up but not down. But when i put the wires in reverse the motor goes down BUT by using the up pad on the controls.
Ive checked to make sure every thing was hot and everthing was O.K. theres juice going to the motor but its not working properly. Could by some odd chance it be a ground issue? Please help me out with any information you guys may have.
I don't know how the motor is switched. I suspect it has two wires, either these wires will reverse polarity for up and down or one wire is up and one is down. The only test I know to confirm this is to cut one wire (in this case it would be down power wire.)

I suspect reversing polarity though. So the switch will provide both, both will be grounded while not working. Then one wire will have 12v and the other 0v while up and then reversed for down. You need to first check continuity on both wires. I suspect one isn't grounding, this will be the up 12v wire.
Ive never had a bad motor / switch ever, its always those damn plastic gears in the motor gear box that go bad. sometimes when they go, the window will still move in one dir. only. repair kit for gears avail on ebay. i just did mine today.
well the old motor was deffinatly bad.
the new one is a good motor untill pluged in then it dosnt move.
ive tested the voltage to each wire while in use and they both read 12v.
so right now im saying its some type of ground issue that i canno seem to find
There is no ground in this system at the motor. When the motor goes in one direction one wire will be + and the other -. When it goes the opposite direction, the + and - swap. I would suspect one of the switches is bad.
see thats what i had suspected as well but when its plugede in the driver side control pannel dosnt work as well as the passenger. could it be that both of the switches are bad?
Look at the bottom of the diagram I have in my post above. You will see a box in the lower left area called the right door switch. This is the passenger side switch. You will see a lightblue black hot wire running down the left side of the diagram feeding the right door switch box, but look how the right door motor only gets it's ground through the master or driver's door switch. So if the driver's door switch had a problem, it could possibly affect the passenger side too.
