What would cause hard shifts in a 97 F350 PSD. I'm looking to buy a 97 F350 CC LB 4X4 but I am concerned about the hard shifts, My 99 F250 shifts smooth. The two are like night and day. Hoping its not a sign of trans going out.
Yeah I was thinking that, the trans fluid level seems too high also. No slipage when driving. Dad said it's a sign of the tranny going out. His tranny went out on his 2000 F350 so he may be right I but I hope he's wrong. I'd like to think its aomething minor. I like the truck. Does the code reader give any insight to the condition of the trans?
Here's what I was able to viably see, Aftermarket Trans cooler, and electric trans cooler fan. The owner does'nt know he is the second owner but the previous owner towed a fifth wheel. So I wonder, would a shift kit be installed in a tow rig?
pretty looking truck. could very well have a shift kit if the PO put the cooler on, only way to tell would be drop the pan and pull the VB. if it's not slippin i would assume all is well (you'll get the old fluid out anyway when you check the VB)
