Seems like an obvious avenue to explore. The tire could end up being much of the suspension once they get it engineered.

How would they adjust teh stiffness as far as makin one to hold up to the weight of a armored humvee and hold and then put it on an explorer and not be rough as a board?

I think keepng that tire balanced would be tough. It's a great idea for military use but for regular vehicles any amout of snow, mud or rocks packed in parts of that honeycomb would make the tire vibrate like heck.
