i got a stuipid question hear that im sure every one knows besides me i am going to switch over to a 4 barrel carb instead of a 2 and i found a used on that came off a 73 360. my truck is a 59 and i was wondering if the mounting base would be the same as the 4 barrel intake on the 59.
This is for the Y block? If so, they had two different four barrel intakes, the 9425-A which is the smaller "teapot" style four barrel, and the 9425-B which is the larger four barrel that I believe Edelbrocks and Holleys just bolt on to.
As an FYI, I had a 272 in my '55 Fairlane with a 3 speed manual tranny that I put a 500 CFM Edelbrock on top of and I always felt it was a little too big. I wished I'd had a smaller carb for better throttle response.
