Factory clock schematic?

I need to check a couple out of the truck and was wondering if anyone knew the pin outs on the plug.

Next time you are in the junkyard, cut the pigtail off. All I have is the wire colors, no pin numbers.

The power wire is the lightgreen/yellow. This feeds the courtesy light circuits too.

The key on power is the white/pink.

The brown wire is the good old running light wire. This must dim the display when the lights are turned on.

Then you have a black ground.

Ford testing I would twist the lightgreen/yellow and the white/pink wires together, and hook them to + and the black to -.

I've got a full wire harness and clock out of the truck. No pin numbers on either of the connectors. They will test out just like Dave said. I've used finishing nails inserted in the female connectors in the the plug, then hooked the nails up to a small 12 volt battery charger. Works like a charm.

Thanks guys.

I do have a pigtail that I'll be hooking up to a 12VDC power supply.

The colors and use is just what I needed.

BTW: some clocks are hard wired to the harness, and some use a small pigtail that plugs in near the heater control.

Another wiring difference is the 1980-1982 clock has a Blue/Red wire instead of the brown wire, because the 1980-1982 clock has a dimmable backlight that uses the circut from the instrument cluster illumination.

shouldn't affect testing though.

I just needed a quick way of testing these when I get them from the yard without having to plug them into my truck.

I'm in the process of converting a PC Power supply to a nice regulated power supply for bench testing.
