I just fired my truck up after 4 days of sitting due to dead batteries. I had to use my tractor to jump it off, my other vehicles were not strong enough. Anyways my batteries are shot, so it is time for some new ones. What brand has the best bang for the buck and best reliability? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
For stock batts, go to WalMart, $75 each and if you need warranty stores are everywhere.
For more $ you can go to larger industrial batts (check to see if they'll fit first) or Optimas.
I just got 2 new Interstate 1000 cranking amps and 850 cold cranking amps with a 36 month free replacement and I think 5 year prorated warranty. I love them.

The batts I have from WalMart have the same specs and warranty, what did the Interstate batts set you back?
I think $124 a piece or something like that. I was buying them from the guy that has his shop across the street from me to help him out. I even bought the same one for my wife's expedition. He's putting a remote start and putting an LED on my truck for my glow plug relay as I type this.

Reps to you for helping out the neighbor!
afonda- yep standard 12v battery. Never heard of an AGM battery so no idea on that one.

HKusp, I'm with you. I replaced mine in the spring and haven't had a problem yet.

I think you got ripped a little. Mine were $80 + tax a piece.
It was in another battery thread last week, that they are letting another company build them and the quality has gone down hill. Somebody with insider information(I think he had worked in the industry) said that they weren't as good as they used to be.
I searched all the battery threads I could find. I found what looked to be the best battery for the money, in my opinion. So Saturday, I replaced my 4 year-old Motorcraft Maxx batteries with Duralast Gold 65-DLG batteries from AutoZone. Made by Johnson Controls, 875CCA, 1000CA, 3 year replacement for $212 out the door. They ranked second in Consumer Reports, the DieHard Platinum ranked #1 but I didn't think they were worth the extra money.
Didn't know that about Optima's either. They are made by Johnson Controls - or that's what the sign says at the factory across the street from my office.
