'98 4.6 got antifreeze in #3 and #4 and started missing. Before pulling the plugs filled the 3 and 4 plug holes with engine degreaser then blew them out with air. Sprayed both down with brakleen, blew them out with air, then finally sprayed wd-40...no way there could have been any moisture left.
changed the plugs (autolite platinum) new autolite wires (plenty of dielectric)...still missed mostly with cylinder 4 misfire (with flashing CEL). once had cylinder 8 misfire. Tried a different coil but still missed..
drove it for over a week that way until on the way home from work tonight it all of a sudden quit missing and started running perfectly???? not sure what made it start working...
i have a 97 F150 and had something like that it was like water kept getin on top of my #7 spark plug anytime it rained i had to pull the #7 plug and clean the water off i couldnt find out why it turns out that water was dripin down by the wipers and coming out a screw head and i could see the water mark on the firewall all i did was pull the screw and put some RTV and put the screw back no prob after that i dont know if its the same but i would look in to it
probably to much dielectric. Also did you use anti-seize on the plugs? Pull the problem wires and see if there is coolant in the sockets that may have gotten there since you did the work. If not, clean all of the dielectric off of everything and see what happens.
