So the front blower in my EB w/ DATC decided to start misbehaving today. It appears to be blowing full speed, regardless of fiddling with the fan speed button. You can hear the blend doors operating and air appears to be coming out of the ducts as expected, just at full blast. I've checked the obvious fuses and relays in the fuse box in the passenger footwell, nothing amiss there. So far it doesn't stay on when the key is off, which is nice.
Anybody have any suggestions? Was supposed to hit the road later this week... As much as I'd enjoy conversation being drowned out by the blower, I can imagine my wife and parents might not appreciate it so much.
more than likely the blower speed controller, as the eatc's don't have a resistor. there are twoi choices depending on build date. if you give me the last 8 digits of your vin, i can get you the right p/n.
lunenburg is about 18 miles north of worcester. the dealership i work at is in acton though. part number you need is 6l1z-19e624-a. the part is inexpensive, but i bet the labor isn't!
Thanks! When I headed off to the dealership, I noticed the blower was working properly again. Go figure... I picked one up anyway but haven't swapped them out yet. Wife made me take her Edge once she heard the Expy was "broken".
