Hey everyone - name's Ken (I'm very imaginative when it comes to usernames.) I'm out in Southbridge, not actually a Ford owner yet but almost certainly getting a '79 F150 Custom Cab (300 I6, 4speed manual, 4x4) soon. Don't have any real upgrades planned for it except fixing rust, maintenance items, slow ("as stuff breaks" basically) restoration. Figured I'd join up to read up on what I'm getting myself into here.

Welcome!
Yer over so. of Worcester?
Think about joining us for a GTG or stop by the BS thread -

As U can tell from title I like that '73 - 9 model and the 4.9 is just amazing. Put em together, that's something! Good luck on the purchase. Is the CC a step side? a 4 door (may B that wuz called the "crew cab")? Saw a step side - w/a double 8 - 12 inch racing strip, topless - that looked great. Course it was a 4X4 crawlin in the woods!

Welcome Iggy, Nice tail lights i have them as well! A word of advise with those, if the passenger side one is sitting close to your tailgate you can adjust it by unscrewing the upper tail light snap a little using a 10mm deep socket. Mine caused my paint to bubble because I had gotten it painted not too long before I installed them just dont want it to happen to you.

Funny, they are fine with the OEM tailgate, but the 5th tailgate I bought for plowing clipped the corner of one before I could get the fitment correct

Hello All!

I acquired a 1996 F150 4x2 last year. It's been a MA truck all its life and I'm the 3rd owner. It's a regular cab styleside with the 4.9L, the Mazda 5sd, and the 2.73 rear end.

I bought a townhouse in and I got tired of renting the truck from Home Depot whenever I needed some plywood/drywall/etc... It's really nice to be able to haul stuff around on MY schedule now.

Thanks to the wealth of info on this site, I managed to change the front fuel tank myself. First time doing something like that!

Noob in Pepperell!

Hello! Entering that phase of life (50+ kids grown) Have Motorcycle and probably getting back to snowmobiling and possibly slide-in camper. I'm looking at getting an F-350, V10, 4x4 with an 8' bed....Regular cab/Super cab OK. Thinking 02-05 with under 150,000 miles would do it....
Wish me luck!
