too much vaccum?

I have a stock 352 in a 66 f-250. I have a reman dizzy with adj. vaccum advance. The ONLY vaccum i am running is to the dizzy and the pcv. but it just floor the vaccum advance when it's hooked up. i can adj. how far the advance travels, not the rate at which it moves. so even at idle, it will advance all the way...

is there a way lessen the vaccum going to the dizzy?

thanks,
Brad

You are using manifold vacuum to the dist. vacuum can. You should be using ported vacuum off the carb. Ported vacuum will give you zero vacuum at idle. Then once you are off idle you will have pretty much the same vacuum as manifold vacuum.

Find vacuum that is ported instead of full manifold vacuum, try it that way + see if you notice any difference.

If there is vacuum at idle with a 2300 then the throttle plates are not closed at idle or you are not on the ported vacuum nipple which is on the passenger side of the metering plate between the carb body and the float bowl. Number 40 in this parts breakdown.
