I have purchased a few items at SVF. The PO of my Panel truck gave me thier catalog. The shipping cost across country is pricey for me. They were very helpful on the phone to me I must say. This is the first year they published a 1948 and later catalog. They only did 1932 to 48 until this past August.Thats when the new one you guys got was first printed. I never got mine. Better put in another request.
i`ve bought replacement panels, cab mounts for my truck cab from lmc and the panels fit 100 percent, heavy guage steel, don`t really have any other brands to compare them to, seem to be all right to deal with but their selection is not even close to what mid 50`s has.
even the panals were strong i had a friend say he got some and they were really wimpy but i never saw them. but you say they were strong?
also im still kinda new here and havent found out how to do every thing. how do you make the little quote thing

yep, i`ve got both drivers side cab front piece and rear, i can`t conplain about the quality, steel was as thick as the original panels, they fit in perfectly when i welded them in.
For what it's worth I've had good luck with LMC. Bought a rear roll pan and all the door glass/parts from them. Had an issue with the wrong window channel, which you bend and install after getting them, being wrong part. Took a few days but when I gave them my measurements vs theirs there were no more questions asked and I had the correct ones shortly thereafter. Qaulity of parts seems pretty good to me.
The quality of LMC has been okay most of the time. Their sheetmetal is fair. I did buy an ignition switch that was junk from them though! They sent me another and I still had to repair it, rotten supplier! The Chineese just don't care about Old Fords as much as we do!! Several things that I have gotten from them were still in Dennis Carpenter bags beacuse they had bought them from them! Just lately I got a set of exterior door handle pads and they were in DC packaging! Should have just got it direct in the first place! They do have decent customer service though!
I have purchased some parts from each of the major suppliers (LMC, MAC's, DC, Obsolete Car Parts, Mar-K, National Parts Depot and SVF) and all seem to pretty good, although the only thing I have been able to install thus far are the patch pannels from LMC. I found that LMC and MAC's both shipped very quickly and orders were complete. The only one that took forever to arrive was my order from Obsolete Car Parts (waited 3 months).
As was mentioned, service is just as important as price.
I've bought a bunch of stuff from LMC and Sacramento Vintage Ford and have been happy with everything. Delivery times are usually a week or so from either. I am a little biased towards LMC as they are on the way to/from my parents'.
I always stop at NPD on my way back north every year ,and they are fine. I think their panels are more money than others. I like mid-50s and Dennis Carpenter for most of my parts, and Job Lots......they are awesome.
If you were to but fenders---who has best deal? Bill
Wait an buy them at the supernats and save about $250 in crating and shipping. Thats one reason I go every year to save shipping costs. Basically the trip is free if you look at it that way.
I just got a real nice flashy catalog from a place called Sacramento Vintage Ford. Anyone heard of it??? It is a very well illustrared catalog and they seem tom have complete coverage from '48 to '66. I did not request this catalog and with exception of exposure here on the FTE I have no idea how I got on their mailing list.
If high prices are an indication of quality these guys have the good stuff, but frankly, I don't suscribe to the theory. I really can't afford to do business with these guys on anything large because shipping clear across the country would be too expensive. I would like to know if anyone has heard of them or has done business with them.
Later Folks...
I have bought from them for a few years and all has been good... wish they had more F3 body parts.
