25/33 Not terrific. I don't necessarily think that this is a great test ( not because of my score ) But it's not a bad test.

Would have liked something like "why is there an electoral college?" (Official reason is to prevent big states from dominating the election)

Possibly more on what rights exist rather than where they are specifially defined. (Not sour grapes)

Also, don't know the relevance of the Puritan or philosopher questions.

I gotta go lay down, somewhere.

I've 'taxed' my brain too much. . . and this early in the morning, to boot.

I've got a headache, now. I smell smoke. . . . . .

Also, don't know the relevance of the Puritan or philosopher questions.

The Puritan and philosopher items are "big picture" items that speak to the ideals and values and philosophies on which the country was founded.

Electoral College is often misunderstood, never more than in 2000 for example. You are correct, it gives all the states a voice. Similar to the representation in Congress. Everybody gets 2 senators, reps are by population. Without it, national campaigns would be waged in the 3 or 4 largest states.

Rights exist. What they are is a long subject. The government--any government--restricts or denies those rights. Our Constitution is designed in part to limit those restrictions, at least in theory and many times in practice. (hence from "free speech" we get nude dancing, a form of expression. )

If you read the language of the Bill of Rights, it often says what the government CAN'T do.

Imperfect, yes. The best system ever designed: yes.

Yeah, I got that one wrong too. I knew that phrase was in the Gettysburg Address, but I thought it was a quote from something earlier, not original to that speech...
