IM looking for ideas on painting my truck wheels. Right now there 2 black, 1 silver and 1 white. Id like to make them all the same but i was wondering what you folks thought. I have some 15inch trim rings if i painted them black but anything else im just curious. If i can keep the truck long enough ill paint it silver on the bottom and black on the top.
If you are going to go ahead with the paint job like you said. I would go black rims with dog-dish hub caps and the trim rings. Would look great with the Black over Silver paint job
anyone know what type of dog dish styles and years will fit these wheels.
The one I have on my truck are the flat faced square shoulder ones. But I think most 1/2 ton Ford truck hub caps will fit. I have had some that I found in a junkyard years ago that a guy told me were from the early 60's. I think the shoulder is the same.
ive seen plenty of dish hubcaps from the 50s 60s and 70s on ebay for a fairly good price. I guess i dotn want to buy something that might not work. is there any photo of a dish cap on the backside so i can compare.
We run rims from a mid 80s truck on our trailer that started life as a '59 F100. The original hubcaps fit just fine. They recently painted it blue again, then painted the rims blue, then painted the hubcaps behind the lettering blue. It's pretty slick. I'll see if I can get some pics from the little bro.
